Luciano Iogna - BIOGRAPHY: Luciano Iogna has worked in film and theatre across all of Canada and internationally in Brazil, India, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States; more than two hundred and fifty theatre projects on four continents in nine languages and with nearly one hundred different theatres, professional organizations, community groups and schools/educational institutes as an actor, writer, director, dramaturge, designer, producer and teacher for over thirty years. For more than twenty of those years he has worked extensively with Forum Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed techniques on issues and themes as diverse as AIDS and health, poverty, discrimination, workplace safety, sexual abuse and violence; with children, teens and adults, cultural communities, unions, women's groups, street youth and the homeless, etc. As an instructor, Luc has taught at Toronto, Queen's and Concordia Universities in Canada, Istanbul and Mugla Universities in Turkey and has also led Forum Theatre workshops in Canada and abroad. His articles have appeared in Transmissions and Tiyatro and he has co-authored the book HAYDi ÇOCUKLAR SAHNEYE (Participatory Children's Theatre) in Turkey with Nihal Kuyumcu. Luc has been nominated or has won regional, national and international awards for his innovative work in film and theatre for writing, directing or design work. Two of his plays for Young Audiences, commissioned and produced by Toronto's Mixed Company Theatre (SHOWDOWN and HOW CAN YOU TELL?), have been nominated for Dora Awards.
